Frequently Asked Questions for Retrofitting Cornices
A cornice cover is another name for a retrofitted cornice - simply put it is a cornice designed to fir over and cover another cornice.
Yes it does matter it is important to measure your current cornice to make sure the retrofit will be able to go over it . If you have a 90mm cove or under you can order ant retrofit , if it is above or a diffrent style give us a call for a fit check.
No. We use Xps foam cornices they are extremely light about 90% lighter then plaster it will not add any extra weight or pressure to your ceiling.
Yes. We love a good old customization , it is always exciting for us to think outside the box and create something that is new , let us know your ideas to create something special.
There are some areas where a cornice does not lead into a corner and around again. Sometimes we need to bring it back in and finish, when retrofitting over a cornice in order to finish off the end cap you might have to remove a small section of the cornice in order to bring it back in and finish it off neatly .( thankfully , you wont have to remove the whole lot !)

An LED cornice is a cornice that was specially made with an integrated LED channel. To add lighting and ambience across the ceiling .
Yes it is very important to have a trunking/ conduit in your LED channel , this helps to distribute the light and prevent bleed through. We recommend a conduit but you can also use aluminimum trunking or aluminimum tape .
Before placing your cornice aginst the wall mark where the cable needs to go through and make a small incision with a stanley knife pull the cable into the channel place your adhesive and stick against the wall.
Yes. all our cornices are safe to be painted with a water based primer and paint it is best to paint before installing the LED and to also paint in the channel.
